# Lead Details

A lead is an opportunity that the Sales Department and team, follow up on to create business for the company. A lead can originate from many different sources such as:

Lead Source
Direct
Customer Referral
Employee Referral
Tender
Event attended
Social Media
Proposal RFP
Return Client
Website (PAID)
Website (ORGANIC)

Basically Leads are those that Practice Development must keep in their sights to keep the company project runway full and healthy.

# Lead List

TIP

You need [CRM app] rights to access the sections described in this documentation.

You can access the lead list here (opens new window). This is the landing page where the Sales team can see a list of all leads that are currently active and archived leads.

Lead List

From the lead list page you can do the following:

  • Create new lead
  • Access lead details
  • Edit lead details
  • Duplicate a lead
  • Convert a lead
  • Update a lead
  • Delete a lead

# Create new Lead

Click on the "create" button at the top of the page, a pop-up form will appear where you can enter the following information:

Field
Sales lead Owner
Title of the Lead
Source of the Lead
Company name of organisation
Company Email
Company Phone
Status of Lead
Financial Value of Lead

Create a Lead

TIP

When you create a new lead, you will have to assign a sales lead owner, for the lead files docs, details etc. Select the owner from the dropdown list.

# Upload CSV File

To upload a CSV file with a list of leads, click on the "Upload CSV" button. Then Download the Spreadsheet example provided, add your data and upload as CSV file.

Before you upload a CSV file, you need to take note of the following specifications:

  1. Minimum required columns - you need to provide at least the title, company name and company email of the hustle. You can leave other columns blank, but do not delete them.
  2. For currency - make sure it is numbers only, for decimals enter them like 1234.56.
  3. The date format should be (dd-mm-yyyy) exactly or this column will be ignored and today's date will be used instead.
  4. Do not change the headings, order of columns or delete any columns from the example spreadsheet or the upload will fail. Click the "upload CSV" button at the top of the page, find the CSV file and upload it. You will them see this page:

# Lead Actions

You can perform the following actions from the "actions" column of the Lead List page:

  1. Convert Lead and Create New Client
  2. Convert Lead without adding Client
  3. Update Lead status to ❌ Lost Lead
  4. Edit Lead
  5. View Lead
  6. Delete Lead
  7. Duplicate Lead

# Edit Lead

To edit an existing lead, start at the lead list page (opens new window), look for the lead you want to edit. Click on the action column for that lead and click - edit. You will be taken to an edit page, where you will be able to edit the details you need to edit for the lead.

# Lead Details

To view lead details, start at the lead list page (opens new window), look for the lead you want to view. Click on the action column for that lead and click - view lead. You will be navigated to the lead detail page for that lead, which will look like this:

Within the lead detailed page, there are sic (6) tabs. Each tab contains a set of data that is relevant to the lead. These tabs are:

  • Lead Details - where you can see all the detailed information you have added about the lead
  • Contact - where you can add contacts related to that lead
  • Expenses - where you can record all the expenses associated with the lead
  • Lead meetings - where you can record all meetings associated with the lead
  • Lead documents - where you can save all lead docs
  • Lead notes - keep track of all notes associated with the lead
